FAQ? What is a "RESET" good for?
For me personally - It helps me keep my guitar out of the case and into my hands. It helped me quit drinking - even though I'm around it all the time. It helped me recover from PTSD. It helps me be a better dad and husband. It helped me stay focused long enough to write my book, "HOLLOW." It helped me go back to school and finish a Master's Program. It helps me help other guys who are overwhelmed and stressed out and are looking for more natural ways to reduce anxiety. Here are a few of things that have improved in my life as a result of learning how to RESET often: my guitar playing, my golf game, my physical fitness, my job satisfaction, my finances, my joy, my sleep, my diet, and peace of mind (usually, lol).

"Box Breathing gets me to that relaxing point. 4 in, 4 hold, 4 out, and 4 hold. It's my go to when things are getting crowded up there."
WHAT A RESET ACTUALLY IS
It's a simple pattern of breath and strings that tells your nervous system the threat is over. Here's the whole thing:
SECONDS 0–10
GRAB THE GUITAR
Any guitar. Doesn't need to be in perfect tune. Sit down, put it in your lap, one hand on the strings.
SECONDS 10-40
BREATHE THE BOX
In for 4. Hold for 4. Out for 4 while you strum one slow chord. Hold for 4. That's one round.
SECONDS 40-50
NOTICE THE SHIFT
Shoulders drop. Jaw unclenches. You return as the dad you meant to be.

Relief.
